Port Hartcort

In 2010, the Catholic Institute of West Africa (CIWA) situated in Port Harcourt, Delta State, invited the Society of St Paul to take over a book centre existing in their premises. After considerable study and with due permission of the General Government, the Paulines accepted that invitation. The Institute also offered us a piece of land (23192 sq. ft) located within its campus. Thus, on 10th October 2011, Rev. Msgr. Felix A. Adeigbo invoked the blessings of God through a short prayer service and inaugurated our mission by cutting the ribbon. On 25th September 2012, Foundation stone for St Paul Book & Media Centre was blessed and laid by His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Camillus, bishop of Port Harcourt, in the presence of Fr. Michael Raj, the Provincial Superior and Rev. Msgr Felix A. Adeigbo, the Rector of CIWA. The new St Paul Book & Media Centre was inaugurated by Rev Msgr Pius Kii, the delegate of His Lordship Most Rev. Dr Camillus, the bishop of Port Harcourt, on 6th July 2014. On the same day, Rev Fr Michael Raj, Provincial Superior, India-Nigeria-UK-Ireland Province, blessed the Centre. However, Port Harcourt continued to be part of the community of Enugu until the community was formally erected by the General Government with a Decree dated 06 November 2015. The community was formally blessed and inaugurated on 26th November 2015. Fr. Robert Correa became the first delegate of the community of Port Harcourt.

Thoughts

24/09/2018 Do not “scatter your mind”; do not look curiously for news about many things that are of no help to us… In your studies, direct everything to the apostolate, from arithmetic to the highest sciences and to Sacred Scripture (FSP53, p. 528).
