SPICE STUDENTS AT AMERICAN LIBRARY

The Postgraduate and the Undergraduate students of SPICE, Mumbai, visited the American Library on 24th July and on 2nd August respectively to enhance their learning and researching skills. They were given a first-hand experience of the library by Ms Sabrina who spoke to them about e-library (online resources) and how not all sites are authentic but the information provided by the American Library is authentic. She explained how the e-library has sections that narrow down the research to the topic in question. Dr. Vijay Patkar spoke about the “Importance of Research: Tips and Tools”. He said that research should be multi-disciplinary; and one must challenge the existing theories to come up with something new. Later, the students were shown a short film on an important topic “Plagiarism: It’s a crime”, where the students were told about what is plagiarism and what are the consequences if one indulges in it. The visit ended with the students taking a tour in the library.
