The Divine Mercy Church, Anna Nagar, Chennai, celebrated the Solemnity of Jesus the Divine Master on Sunday 12th November 2017. This Solemnity used to be celebrated by the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master. But this year, the Society of St Paul, Chennai, celebrated it with the cooperation of the Sister Disciples of the Divine Mercy Shrine. To the great surprise of every one, approximately nine hundred parishioners and about two hundred persons from the neighbouring parishes, attended the FEASTDAY MASS at 9.30 a.m. While Fr George Chathanattu, the Parish Priest, presided over the Eucharistic celebration, Fr Arockia Swamy, the Assistant Parish Priest, and Fr Stephan Kollamkudy, concelebrated it. Fr George, in his homily, highlighted the significance of the figure of JESUS MASTER in the Christian spirituality. It was an eye-opener for the congregation gathered to know about such a spirituality approved by the Holy Sea. The presence and the active involvement of eight Sister Disciples during the Mass, in fact, gave a PAULINE COLOUR to the entire celebration. After the Mass, several persons came forward and expressed their desire to celebrate the Pauline Feasts in the Parish hereafter. Congrats to Fr George, the members of the community of Chennai, the Sister Disciples and all the parishioners for making it a moment of grace and celebration.
