A Seminar on the Changing Media Landscape

With the aim of promoting SPICE among media students, a seminar was jointly organized by SPICE, Mumbai and Visual Communication Department of Loyola College on 20 December in Loyola College, Chennai. The theme of the seminar was the changing media landscape in which many experts in the field of media and technology shared their views on changing perceptions of digital compunction. Prof Haneef from Pondicherry Central University delivered a talk on emerging possibilities of digital media technologies. Fr (Dr) Plavendran also addressed the gathering on the theme Understanding digital age: Eight elements of digital communication. Other speakers from a few media industries shared their knowledge on the practical applications of a few digital technologies and how they are applied in a specific context. As many as 200 students from various colleges from the city participated in the seminar. During the seminar the publicity materials on SPICE were distributed to the students. We whole heartedly thank Fr (Dr) Plavendran and Fr (Dr) Dominic in conducting the seminar successfully. We also wish to thank Fr George Chattanat, the Superior of Chennai community for helping them to conduct this event.
