CATHOLIC PRESS MONTH CELEBRATED

Catholic Press Month was celebrated in the Cathedral Church of Guwahati Archdiocese on Sunday 18 February 2018  on the initiative Father Alfonso Elengikal and the Pauline Sisters in Guwahati. The Pauline Sisters under the leadership of Sister Priya FSP had prepared the people with posters, banners and cut-outs. Father Vincent Carmel SSP was the main celebrant at the Mass and he invited the people to celebrate and thank God for the Press and the Press Apostolate in the Church. In his homily, Father Alfonso explained the Church’s teachings on the Press apostolate and on the effectiveness of this medium, and offered various suggestions to promote this medium among the families and in the parishes. After the Holy Eucharist, the Sisters were there with Bibles and books. The celebration brought about great awareness among the parishioners of the need to support a good press and for improving the reading habit in the family. We also got to know some parishioners who were already writers and those interested in furthering the good press. We congratulate the entire team for their zeal and Pauline spirit.
