Frs Joe Eruppakat and Augustine Kanachikuzhy of the Delhi Community participated in the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Queen of the Apostles Church in Sangam Vihar, New Delhi on 12 November. Though Sangam Vihar is not very far from Greater Kailash where our community is situated, Sangam Vihar is totally the opposite of Greater Kailash. Greater Kailash is a well-planned and developed area of New Delhi while Sangam Vihar has narrow roads and congested lanes which make the journey to the Church arduous. But as we reach the spot where the Church is situated, we find a beautiful Church dedicated to Mary Queen of the Apostles. The Pallottine Fathers run the parish and a School for the local children, thereby providing them good education. The Parishioners are mainly Catholics from tribal backgrounds settled in this area seeking job and livelihood. The Holy Eucharist was officiated by Most Rev. Anil Couto, the Archbishop of Delhi. The concelebrants were mainly Pallottine fathers along with parish priests of the nearby parishes. Our Delhi community is closely associated with this Church through our rendering spiritual assistance whenever needed. Our presence at the Jubilee celebration was very much appreciated. The celebration consisted of cultural events and a fellowship meal.
