This year, in our Vijayawada community, we had a simple yet lovely and meaningful Christmas celebration. Prior to Christmas, the postulants were given almost one week holiday so that they could think and plan and come out with their various creative initiatives for the Christmas Celebrations. In fact, their presence in the community made a big difference this year. Without anyone’s suggestion or support they planned out meticulously and worked like a smooth running machine, to complete whatever they had in mind. As a result, they made an attractive crib, decorated the interior places of the house beautifully and made the necessary arrangements for the midnight mass. The novena in preparation for Christmas enabled the members to prepare themselves spiritually. On Christmas night we had the solemn mass celebrated by Fr Wilson as the main celebrant. The sisters and the candidates from the neighbouring St Joseph’s Convent joined us for the celebration. After the mass all joined for singing, dance and refreshments. The custom of exchanging gifts, pleasantries and greetings with the various religious communities and collaborators was maintained as usual.
