The community of Maynooth gathered to celebrate on 27 June a Month's Mind Mass in memory of Fr. Vincent Gnarakattu, who passed away on 25 May in Kochi. The Mass, held to honour and pray for the repose of Fr. Vincent's soul, drew many attendees from Maynooth and its surrounding areas.
Fr. Vincent, remembered fondly by those who knew him, was praised for his unwavering dedication to the community. His welcoming nature and exceptional listening skills left a lasting impact on many, who expressed their gratitude during the service. The ceremony began with a warm welcome from Fr Shinto, who read out a brief necrology of Fr. Vincent, highlighting his life and contributions. The Eucharist was presided over by Fr Paul. The emotionally charged service reminded everyone of the late Fr Vincent's significant role in their lives and the community at large.
Following the Holy Mass attendees gathered for tea and an informal chat, sharing stories and memories of Fr Vincent. The community of Maynooth expressed their commitment to continue remembering Fr Vincent and praying for his soul. "We will certainly continue remembering Fr Vincent and will pray for his soul. May his soul rest in peace," said a member of the community. Fr Vincent Gnarakattu's memory lives on in the hearts of those he touched, and the Month's Mind Mass was a fitting tribute to a man who dedicated his life to serving others.
May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
